Four weeks ago, I had a baby. I’ve now got used to surviving on less than three hours sleep at night and ten minute catnaps during the day,
along with a fuckton of coffee and we’re starting to settle into a routine nicely.
Now, having a newborn around the place meant that I have, admittedly, let the housework slide a little bit. It’s nowhere near as bad as it used to be, but still bad enough that I wouldn’t want the in-laws, who are coming over this evening for J’s birthday, to see it. So this afternoon, while River was napping, I decided to tidy up a bit.
Pictures under the cut.

After taking a few minutes to have a drink and a sandwich, River was still asleep so I set the timer for half an hour this time and decided to tackle the bathroom:
Half an hour later:
Also accomplished in that half an hour: Bathroom bath and sink cleaned, rubbish taken out, bottles cleaned and sterilised and another batch made up and tonight’s outfit picked out.
She Who Must Be Obeyed is now waking up ready for her next feed, but all I have to do now is hoover and give the kitchen and bathroom floors a quick mop. That will only take me twenty minutes, which will give me two hours to relax before the in-laws get here.
I couldn’t have done it without you, UFYH!
